What is the Purpose of SloopEngine User?

A SloopEngine User is a real person who uses the SloopEngine Account. Usually, a User could be a member of your organization. The purpose of a SloopEngine User is to access Organization resources such as servers, repositories for software development, tickets, etc. through SloopEngine Account.

Understanding SloopEngine User

SloopEngine provides access control for Users at two contexts: the Account context and the Workspace context.

In the Account context, the possible roles for a User are:

  • Admin: Full access control over all aspects of the Account, including managing users, billing, and other administrative tasks. This role is assigned to the person who creates the account by default.
  • Manager: Limited access control over Account level entities such as managing users, but not able to manage billing, whitelisting IPs, etc.
  • Member: Read-only access to view Account level entities, but not able to make any changes or modifications.
  • Auditor: Read-only access to view Account level entities, but not able to make any changes or modifications. It is typically used for monitoring and compliance purposes.

In the Workspace context, the possible roles for a User are: - Manager: Full access and control over all aspects of the Workspace, including managing users, permissions, and other administrative tasks. - Lead: Limited access control over Workspace level entities. - Member: Read-only access to view Workspace level entities. At the same time It can create IDE Session and SSH Session. - Analyst: Read-only access to view Workspace level entities. At the same time It can create tasks in the Project Task Management system and assign them to other users within the workspace. This role is commonly used for monitoring and analysis purposes.

Create User into SloopEngine Account

To create a SloopEngine User, please follow the instructions provided.

  1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard and navigate to the Users section.

  2. Click on the CREATE USER button.

  3. Enter Name, Email and Role, and then click the Save button.

When you create a user, an email will be sent to the entered email address with the user's credentials and login details. To remove a user from the SloopEngine account, select the user and change their status to InActive.

Update User Role in SloopEngine Account

Updating user roles is carried out by both the Admin and Manager. To update role of SloopEngine User, please follow the instructions provided.

  1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard and navigate to the Users section.

  2. Click the Edit Icon on the the specific user.

  3. Update the Users Role and then click Save button.

Update User Status in SloopEngine Account

If you want to Block a SloopEngine User please follow the instructions provided.

  1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard and navigate to the Users section.

  2. Click the Edit Icon on the the specific user.

  3. Change the Users Status from Active to Blocked and then click Save button.

Update User Profile

To update your first name and last name of SloopEngine User, please follow the instructions provided.

  1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard.
  2. Click on the Name select Preference menu option.

  3. Navigate to the Profile section.

  4. Change your First Name and Last Name.

Change User Password

To update your SloopEngine account password, please follow these steps:

  1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard.
  2. Click on the Name select Preference menu option.

  3. Navigate to the Security section.

  4. Go to the Change Password section and update your password."

Refresh User Token

To refresh your user token, please follow these instructions:

  1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard.
  2. Click on the Name select Preference menu option.

  3. Navigate to the Security section.

  4. In the Manage Token section, click on the REFRESH button

Add User into SloopEngine Workspace

To add a SloopEngine User into Workspace, please follow the instructions provided.

  1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard and navigate to the Workspaces section.

  2. Go to the specific workspace.

  3. Navigate to the User section.

  4. To add a user, click the ADD USER button.

  5. Enter the name. The system will automatically complete the name if it matches an existing user in the SloopEngine Account. Assign a role to them and click the Save button.

Update User Role in SloopEngine Workspace

To update a user's role in a Workspace, please follow these instructions:

  1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard and navigate to the Workspaces section.

  2. Go to the specific workspace and navigate to the User section.

  3. Navigate to the User section.

  4. Click on the Edit button next to the user's name whose role you want to update.

  5. In the Edit User section, select the new role for the user and click the Save button.
