What is the Purpose of SloopEngine Node?

The purpose of a SloopEngine Node is to provide a way to manage computing resources such as physical machine, virtual machine, or container. It can be referenced while creating a permission.

Understanding SloopEngine Node

A SloopEngine Node can be a host machine, virtual machine or container, that have an FQDN-based hostname or IP address. When creating a Permission in SloopEngine, you can specify which Nodes the permission applies to by referencing the FQDN or IP address. This allows you to control which users have access to which resources and ensure that sensitive data is protected. With SloopEngine Node, you can organize and manage node (servers/containers) details in a single place.

It is important to note that when creating a permission, the exact FQDN or IP address of the node must be specified, and not a group or cluster of nodes. This granularity provides a more secure way of granting permissions and better visibility on who has access to which resources.By referencing the SloopEngine Nodes while creating Permissions, you can manage the access to your resources more effectively, and ensure that only authorized users are able to access them.

Provide a human-understandable name, FQDN-based hostname or IP address, and select the provider and type of node (public/private) to add a node to your SloopEngine Workspace. When creating a Permission you can reference the Node name that has all the required inforamtion about the node (servers/containers).

Create SloopEngine Node

To create a SloopEngine Node, please follow the instructions provided.

1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard and navigate to the Workspaces section.

   

2. Go to the specific workspace.

   

3. Navigate to the Node section.

   

4. To create a new Node, click on the CREATE NODE button.

   

5. Enter the required information, and then click the Save button.

   

Update SloopEngine Node

To update a SloopEngine Node, please follow the instructions provided.

1. Access your SloopEngine account dashboard and navigate to the Workspaces section.

   

2. Go to the specific workspace.

   

3. Navigate to the Node section.

   

4. Click the Edit Icon on the the specific Node.

   

5. Update the Node Name, Host, Provider, Type and Description, and then click Save button.
